L. Timothy
Fisher specializes in consumer and securities class actions
and complex business litigation. He has been actively involved
in several cases in which the firm achieved multi-million dollar
recoveries for consumers and investors. Mr. Fisher has handled
cases involving a wide range of issues including nutritional labeling,
health care, telecommunications, corporate governance and fraud.
Mr. Fisher
joined the firm as a law clerk in 1996 and became an associate
in 1997 after he was admitted to the State Bar of California.
He is also a member of the bar of the United States Court of Appeals
for the Ninth Circuit and numerous federal district courts. Mr.
Fisher taught appellate advocacy at John F. Kennedy University
School of Law for two years.
Mr. Fisher received his Juris Doctorate from Boalt Hall at the
University of California at Berkeley in 1997. While in law school,
he was an active member of the Moot Court Board and participated
in moot court competitions throughout the United States. In 1994,
Mr. Fisher received an award for Best Oral Argument in the first
year moot court competition.
In 1992, Mr. Fisher graduated with highest honors from the University
of California at Berkeley and received a degree in political science.
Prior to graduation, he authored an honors thesis for Professor
Bruce Cain entitled "The Role of Minorities on the Los Angeles
City Council." He is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Significant
Cases:
Thomas v. Global Vision Products, Inc. (Alameda County
Superior Court) (Judge Robert Freedmen). Second chair at trial
in case involving a deceptively marketed hair re-growth product.
The jury awarded more than $37million to the plaintiff class and
the Court awarded $40 million to the plaintiff class.
White v. Cellco Partnership (Alameda County Superior Court)
(Judge Bonnie Sabraw). Co-counsel representing Verizon Wireless
subscribers who paid an early termination fee. A settlement of
$21 million was negotiated during trial.
Guyette v. Viacom, Inc. (Alameda County Superior Court)
(Hon. Ronald M. Sabraw). Co-counsel representing class of cable
television subscribers in class action seeking refunds of payments
made in aid of cable television company's property taxes. A settlement
of $13 million was negotiated.
